Abstract
Lesson planning serves as one of the key means for ensuring the quality of instruction. In an effort to facilitate, streamline, and improve the overall lesson planning process, a web-based lesson planning system was developed using a tested instructional approach, the 5E instructional model. The purpose of this paper is to share our practical experience in designing this learner-centered lesson planning system. This new online system empowers faculty to create, search, adapt, and share lesson plans within the system without the inefficiencies and inconsistencies associated with the traditional ways of preparing lesson plans.
