Abstract

In an effort to reconceptualize its technology literacy curriculum within its teacher preparation program, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University undertook the charge to redesign a course directly addressing how technology has changed and continues to change learning. To better exemplify pedagogical best practices and accommodate active learning preferences of new generations of learners, designers created a course of research-based experiences and aligned those experiences with relevant college initiatives. Curriculum includes hands-on exploration in emerging technologies labs and applying ethical considerations related to technology using the college’s principled innovation framework.
