Abstract

Abstract: In the future, hologram technology might support the learning process as it produces a three-dimensional (3D) picture. The 360° holographic display produces holographic images that can be viewed from any angle. A hologram will possess all the visual depth cues as if it were a real object. The actual size of models helps students to learn. Students are motivated by realistic reproductions. Holograms add a supplemental teaching mode. The findings demonstrate six points. First, students have the advantage of seeing a component in three dimensions by using holograms. Second, a hologram can be projected in a complete 360-degree holographic display allowing viewers to walk around the scene. Third, a hologram adds depth and a sense of reality to enhance learning. Fourth, models in actual scale are beneficial to the learning process. Fifth, holography has the capability to reproduce reality and is an amazing way to motivate students. Sixth, holographic technology offers an additional mode for teaching. For these reasons, hologram technology can support the learning process even though it is not a "one size fits all" solution.
