Abstract

This paper describes the comprehensive evaluation model of an online teacher preparation program. Data from multiple sources were utilized to answer the general question, Can well qualified special education teachers be prepared in an online learning environment? Evaluation measures were developed to assess student perceptions and outcomes in courses and in the K-12 classroom. Surveys and online focus groups of online teacher candidates, instructors and field supervisors were completed and added to institutional and assessment data. Sample data from the multiple sources are presented to illustrate the comprehensive evaluation of the program.
