Abstract
The present study examined which variables could predict the use of three parental mediation strategies (active, technological monitoring, and restrictive) among parents in Israel. 105 families (father, mother, and a child) participated in the study. The research instruments were self-report questionnaires for parents and child separately. The study findings indicate that parental digital skills predict their active mediation strategy, and the parental risk perception predicts mother restrictive mediation strategy. This study highlights the importance of providing guidance to parents regarding their digital skills, in order to encourage optimal mediation strategies (active mediation and technological monitoring).
