Abstract

This paper discusses issues related to the implementation of an online content and discussion component to replace large group lectures in a pre-service teacher education setting. A large number of post-secondary institutions and school districts are considering how to create or expand online teacher education programs (and education programs in general) – and there seems to be a hurry to put something online. Our experience and research in this area should offer some guidance for other institutions interested in online teacher education.
