Abstract
Abstract. The Alabama State Department of Education, sponsor of the Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX), submits this proposal to present 21-Create Project to the 2008 E-Media Conference. This proposal outlines a cogent state and national partnership of Alabama colleges of education with a vibrant, engaging, and digital portal program [in partnership with iTunes U] of media that extends learning beyond the four walls of the traditional classroom. The overarching goal of 21-Create is to use self-efficacy, self regulation, and engaging pedagogy as predictors of achievement and behavior. Perceptions of self-efficacy have been related to elevate goal-setting as well as enhanced motivation and persistence in achieving goals, two behaviors which would be considered as assets for classroom teachers. This truly innovative project promises to build a bridge between formal and informal learning environments through higher education pre-service education and research resulting in stronger collaborations.
