Abstract

Abstract: This paper identifies the challenges for SIM University, Singapore’s only private university for adult learners, based on the national statistics on education levels and information technology usage. The challenges faced are in developing innovative and relevant programs that are flexible to meet the needs of a growing population of adult learners. Four strategies are briefly described to move the university to achieve its goals to offer truly flexible education to the masses. The four strategies are: (1) plan for e-Learning developments; (2) invest in lay the IT, human resource, and e-Learning resources; (3) prepare the support students; and (4) build partnerships for research and collaborations.
