Abstract
Creating a web-based safe space for adult English language learners facilitates communicative language acquisition. A learning environment without the stress of high-stakes proficiency placement testing enables multiple methods of assessing students’ knowledge and metalinguistic awareness. Learning should always coincide with students’ interests and unique learning styles.
