Abstract

Digital learners are currently enrolled in higher education programs for medicine and healthcare professions. Many of these programs have competency-based curricula. Online offerings in higher education have become more prevalent for basic didactic courses, however there has been little or no faculty development devoted to the integration of competency-based outcomes with online learning. This presentation will demonstrate how higher education faculty in medical and healthcare programs can (a) identify competencies suited for online learning activities; (b) match specific competencies with suitable online learning activities integrating digital multimedia; (c) construct an online learning activity using digital multimedia with measurable outcomes for competencies.
