Abstract
Why do faculty as consumers of published undergraduate materials and low and high-tech self-developers, tend to ignore the growing online databases of learning objects? A survey of directors of faculty development centers blames this lack of usage on unfamiliarity, inertia and ease-of-use. The author suggests a decision-making tool and other ideas for incorporating learning object repositories into the faculty mainstream.
