Abstract

This mixed method action research case study examines evidence of deeper learning principles as designed and evidenced in an online course and corroborated by the Distance Education Learning Environments Survey (DELES) instrument. Findings indicate that curriculum planning to achieve deeper learning requires adaptation and continuous monitoring of learner experiences and expectations. A set of best practices is provided as a measure of reflexive instructional design.
