Abstract
TALENT began its activities at CSUF in 2000 with a series of weeklong institutes and full day workshops for teaching faculty, university supervisors of field placement, and K-12 master teachers who were participating in its credential program. A key component of the project was the creation of learning communities that consisted of one or more master teacher, student teacher, and university supervisor collaborating to use technology to improve K-12 student learning. Since the learning community members engaged in technology-mediated activities that focused on both individual and common goals, Activity Theory may be used to both explain and predict the outcomes of those activities and their impact upon both the School of Education and the cooperating K-12 school.
