Abstract
Abstract: Present E-Learning is actually a kind of Information-based learning, which can ft really and fully endow E-Learning with essential superiority to traditional learning. It is necessary to structure E-Learning from an Information-based level into a Knowledge-based level, which never negates the importance of information resource. Ontologies in Knowledge Engineering field will act as the important role of this architect. This paper will ponder on the difference between Information-based E-Learning and Knowledge-based E-Learning, and discuss why ontologies can structure E-Learning into Knowledge-based degree. Generally, an ontology is often related with some special knowledge domain. To give proof to the structure functions of ontologies, this paper focuses on an ontologies-driven online Instructional Skills Training system model design in teacher education domain. And, this paper will also discuss the design of relevant ontologies in this system model.
