Abstract

What do universities or individual faculty members do to prepare for transitioning from face-to-face to teaching students online? Are most faculty self-taught or do they engage in organized professional development? What kind of preparation is necessary to design and implement successful online instruction? The presenters of this Roundtable session plan to review findings on effective faculty development from the current literature share the experiences of learning to teach online at their university, and provide an open forum for discussion.
