Abstract: In this paper, the potential applications of smartphone technology to the future career of students were reviewed. It is found that Smartphone technologies have the potential of helping students to improve their abilities of defining their future career pursuit, gaining career research and document management skills, to improve their resume handling and interviewing skill, as well as to improve their capability of logic/critical thinking and creativity. It is therefore recommended that administrators make a decision to allow students access to these smart devices. This conclusion is currently based on literature review in the background and features of computer technology and functions of various different smartphones together with the purpose of college education for college students. A further study is proposed for the following semesters, which will analyze the relationship between the smartphone technology and the future development of students’ careers.
