The purpose of this workshop is to present the experience of the researcher who used Storytelling Alice with her students to enhance their English Language Proficiency in terms of learning speech acts. Storytelling Alice is a 3D programming software designed primarily for teaching secondary school students programming. The software includes “worlds” that refer to the setting of the story, imaginary characters, buildings, animals, and aliens. The children have to learn first how to select the world, how to choose the characters and most importantly how to make the characters move, speak, duck, run, dance, and turn. Speaking is one of the most important features in this presentation as it is one of the means of communication, and negotiation of meaning through language.
