Abstract

Taking into account the shortcomings of Teacher education programs as was elicited from previous studies the present study has designed a curriculum framework for an ICT integrated Teacher Education Program. This curriculum was designed taking into account the duration , nature of students who enroll for teacher education courses, nature of technology enabled schooling in secondary schools and the competencies of Teacher educators who impart training. A Focus Group comprising of Curriculum planners, School administrators ,Teacher Educators, Secondary school teachers, Beginning teachers was convened for discussions .Practical, feasible and relevant measures for ICT based Teacher Education was collected and a curriculum framework was designed .The framework calls for Theoretical foundations, Basic ICT skills, and Techno pedagogies before Practice teaching. Encouraging Pre service teachers to use technology during 3 classroom sessions and during the Post practice teaching phase imparting awareness regarding social networks and how these could be used pedagogical context .
