The present research investigates blogs’ pedagogical effects on English writing. Literature recommends this technological tool but few empirical studies report how blogs empower language learners by raising their linguistic ownership and writing quality. A dyadic online collaborative blog project is implemented between two Taiwanese universities. Thirty-four English language learners interact in pairs to reflect on weekly writing prompts under an over-arching theme of self awareness. The initial finding has confirmed the necessity of the research. Numerous students have reflected on their self doubts when communicating in English, in response to a questionnaire. Two questionnaires and students’ message archives will be employed to report qualitative and quantitative data to reveal students’ possible progress through blog-writing.
