Quality management and assessment for web-based virtual teamwork

The article analyses the problem of quality management and assessment methodology suitable for web-based virtual teamwork evaluation. Learning in teams is aimed to develop skills of solving tasks by using various competences and sharing responsibilities of learners. The presented assessment system model is based on evaluation of four compounds. The first compound evaluates the quality of the project prepared by virtual team. Then the quality of web-based teamwork and the individual input by project participants is evaluated by applying various scores. The fourth compound is derived from the internal self-assessment of the virtual team members. The quantitative and qualitative indicators, used in the four compound evaluations, ensure that the final grade of the project assessment reveals both team performance and the progress of each individual learner. The experimental data of the virtual teamwork by seven international teams was applied for analysis of the quality of suggested method.
