Abstract

This roundtable discussion will focus on a digital storytelling project used with middle level pre-service teachers as a strategy to bring student voice to personal reflection about one's journey in literacy. At the roundtable, participants will have an opportunity to examine the digital stories prepared by middle level, pre-service teachers. We will share our approach to this project, the professional development involved in supporting students, and the lessons we have learned about using digital storytelling as a strategy to increase and improve student reflection. This project is part of The University of Vermont Portfolio Connection, funded by the 2003 Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology (PT3) grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
