Abstract

As mobile device has been widely used in education, this study examined whether the iPad can be integrated in preschool classroom to improve science learning from a quantitative perspective. iPad instruction were given to 3 -5 years old children to help them learn science concepts. Four preschools, and more than a hundred children were participated in the research. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to examine the general improvement before and after the iPad intervention and difference in improvement among ELL children, special needs children and children without special needs or ELL status. The results showed that participants generally improved in science concept after iPad intervention.
