Abstract
In this essay response, the authors address two goals: First, they comment on the ideas found in the new Guidelines for Using Technology to Prepare Social Studies Teachers, going deeper into issues where they concur with the judgments expressed, where they disagree, and where they feel more should be said. Second, they take the liberty of riffing on these guidelines to imagine what might be in terms of technology and social studies education.
