Using Blended Learning Approach in Pre-service Technology Integration Courses

Blended learning shows multiple benefits when it comes to student learning. Previous research revealed that the use of blended learning in the classroom strengthens student higher order thinking skills, improves student engagement and provides opportunities for self-improvement. Little research has been conducted on the use of blended learning in pre-service technology integration courses. In order to prepare future teachers for technology powered world, it is important to expose and provide them with blended learning experience. Research is needed to study student and instructor experiences with blended learning in technology integration courses to help better understand how to maximize student learning and involvement and to prepare students for their professional pursuits.
