Abstract

The power and the utility of the Internet has been a proven factor in many commercial, industrial and corporate sectors. But, the effective application of the same in the educational sectors is still under exploration. Universities must join hands with the Commercial service providers to offer Distance Education and Teleteaching to cover a wide range of audience. This requires a flexible framework with regard to registration, certification, validation and key and content distribution. Currently, not many tools are available to fulfill these requirements. Therefore an effort has been taken to introduce a novel approach, using the existing multicast capabilities of the Internet, for the on-line Distance Education problem. A flexible framework is proposed and has been compared with the existing DiRK model [5].
