Effective Technology Integration in the Secondary English Classroom: A Planning Guide for Teachers

The theoretical underpinnings, research, and rationale behind a planning guide designed to help secondary English teachers effectively integrate technology into instruction will be presented. The guide, which includes seven teacher planning prompts, relevant research summaries, Common Core English Language Arts standards, and best practice exemplars, will also be shared. This brief paper will allow participants to think critically about this tool that allows teachers to plan lessons that fully embody TPACK (Mishra & Koehler, 2006).
