Abstract

The existing body of literature regarding technology integration and the role of administrators supports the International Society for Technology in Education Standards for Administrators (ISTE Standards·A), previously known as the NETS·A (International Society for Technology in Education, 2012a). These standards call for visionary leadership, digital-age learning culture, excellence in professional practice, systemic improvement, and digital citizenship. Due to the ubiquity of technology in our schools and expectations for students’ and teachers’ use, the literature indicates how the standards serve as a guide that administrators should utilize to promote technology integration in the K-12 setting.
