Abstract

In late 2012 the head of an academic unit at the university level was confronted with the task of producing an electronic document for their 50 year anniversary seminar. To resolve competing demands relating to content, extent, media types etc. she suggested to produce a multi-dimensional publication for both paper and different types of screen estate. The publication should contain theoretical, administrative and more descriptive content, personal profiles, and essayistic perspectives on the past, present and future of the subject domain as well as tidbits of potential interest. At the same time the entire production process was intended as a training vehicle in digital publishing and pedagogical innovation for the faculty members. This paper reports on this project in terms of perspective, organization and results.
