Abstract

Abstract This paper analyzes the first Master Level English E-training program for Chinese in-service teachers facilitated by the Distance Education College of East China Normal University in Shanghai. It focuses on its development, curriculum and training support environment. The curriculum encompasses teaching objectives, learning materials, instructional methods and assessment strategies. The supporting environment refers to the hardware and software topology of the Distance Education College. The outcome of the program is reported by using students' test data and the result of a survey that was designed to measure students' achievement and seek their feedback for improvement.
