Information Literacy Within the General Education Program: Implications for Distance Education

Abstract

To ensure the general education curriculum's success, information literacy must be integrated into the curriculum. Librarians and general education curriculum planners must create and maintain strong partnerships to optimize success. Discusses elements successful information literacy programs must include, challenges of teaching information literacy in the new electronic environment, and providing user support for distance learners.
