Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to point out the importance of motivation and describe a model that provides a useful framework for both the design and improvement of the motivational quality of Web-based instruction. This paper presents an overview of the primary components of motivation as well as a motivational instructional model. In addition, it discusses an instrument used for designing and assessing the motivational quality of World Wide Web sites.
