Abstract

To prepare preservice teachers to use technology in preschool classrooms, all students majoring in early childhood education in a Northeast Ohio university are required to take an educational technology course; however, limited studies have been conducted on the types of technology that preservice teachers use during their student teaching in a preschool setting. In this study, student teachers’ technology backgrounds and the types of technology they integrated in preschool classrooms were investigated. The availability of the technology materials and tools at their assigned schools were studied. The findings of the research will enhance the capability of teacher preparation programs to prepare preservice teachers to integrate technology effectively in preschool classrooms.
