Abstract

ICT and mobile learning technologies and applications are shaping the future of education, and are becoming pervasive in today’s society. We believe that the Lebanese education curriculum needs to be amended to incorporate ICT and mobile technologies in education, and to necessitate the development of teachers’ ICT capabilities and preparations. In this paper I will discuss ICT integration for teaching and learning in the Middle East with a focus on Lebanon. The use of mobile learning technologies and tools by/educators in Lebanese schools is discussed, the ability of this technologies to serve the emerging learning process and delivery to the millennium (digital learners) is also described, a comparison between regions, schools, surrounding countries is drawn with a focus on the current social, political, economical barriers and lack of government support for teacher preparation program.
