
Standards-based IEP Goal Development via PBL sessions in a Multi-User Virtual Environment

Abstract
This paper describes the activities of a study in progress. The results of the study to be presented include pre and post-test quality scores on standards-based IEP goals developed during a PBL process while using a multi-user virtual environment. Outcomes from the study will include a better understanding of how in-service special education teachers can develop standards-based IEP using PBL in virtual worlds. Additionally special education teachers experiences of social or sentient presence will also be reported. These findings will help to inform the special education, PBL, multi-user virtual environment, and presence research communities.
