Abstract

This paper is a description of “The Social Networked Teacher”-project. This research project is financed by the School of Education (Catholic University of Louvain – Belgium) and runs from 2010 – 2012 in the teacher training department of the Limburg Catholic University College. The project does research on the educational added value of the use of social networksites, makes a best practice in facebook, develops a ethical code for teachers and teacher trainers about what to do and don’t in using facebook with students, and presents some guidelines for using social networksites in education. The implementation of Bloom’s renewed taxonomy to be used in daily teaching practice with digital natives is the challenge for the next years for teachers and teacher trainers.
