Abstract
According to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the number of mobile phone subscribers will reach five billion by the end of 2010 (Whitney, 2010). This means that approximately 75 percent of the world’s population will have access to mobile technology. Mobile phone technology has become both sophisticated and utilitarian in serving people today, especially teenagers. These same teens will be attending our colleges and universities increasing the number of cell phone user’s significantly. The purpose of this paper is to examine the current literature on the use of mobile technology in education.
