Abstract

Abstract: Audiology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University and Horizon Interactive Studios have developed together a series of Remeditainment products that train children affected with Central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) using non verbal, simple verbal and complex verbal stimuli in Egyptian Arabic to improve their auditory abilities. The product introduces a new genre where treatment is achieved through playing challenging games in a fun world in which dramatically set themes were developed around original cartoon characters, script and animation. Although it is too early to assess the full impact, initial results show that 42% of our pilot study patients displayed remarkable improvement both objectively (using central auditory testing) and subjectively (in scholastic achievement).
