Abstract

For online learning to be effective and sustainable, a university must develop a plan that provides resources and support for faculty and students working on a 24/7 schedule. The challenge is to educate faculty on what technologies are available and how to integrate those technologies into instruction for reaching online students. For this project, the Center for Academic Technology Support staff committed expertise and funding to help faculty enhance classes currently offered through WebCT. Echo360 was used to record audio and video presentations so online students could easily preview and review delivered content. Elluminate training promoted the use of two-way web-based videoconferencing for sharing desktop resources and course materials. This presentation will also highlight benefits and limitations experienced by faculty utilizing each system. The discussion will further focus on future plans in meeting the institution’s vision as part of the overall Academic Technology Plan.
