Abstract

One of the ways to help students of diversity to be successful in mathematics is implementation of computer technology (CT), particularly computer-assisted instruction (CAI), in higher education mathematics curriculum. This paper reviews the literature that explores the use of CAI as a tool for education and its effectiveness in developmental mathematics. Its purpose is to answer the following questions: (a) whether educational instruction delivered by CAI is an efficient and effective instructional method; (b) how CAI can best be used as an instructional method.
