Abstract

The National Educational Technology Plan (2016), charges teacher preparation programs with addressing educational technology in a program-deep and program-wide fashion with the claim that new teachers should be “prepared to teach with technology without remediation by his or her hiring district” (p. 35-36), The Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs) were developed to support the professional development of teacher educators who infuse technology into their content courses. This webinar explains the twelve competencies and how each might be applied in teacher preparation coursework. Additionally, examples of innovative pedagogy and technology tools for each are provided. Viewers might consider watching this video as a launching point for a technology infusion effort, for revising content-based courses to include technology integration, or for stimulating conversations about professional development for teacher preparation faculty.
