The AECT HistoryMakers Project: Conversations with Leaders in Educational Technology

Abstract

The early beginnings and evolution of the field of educational technology (ET) have been documented by various scholars in the field. Recently, another form of historical documentation has been undertaken through a project of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT). The AECT HistoryMakers Project is a collaborative endeavor among AECT members to capture the voices of leaders, past and present, in the field of ET. Through this initiative, an online archive of video interviews with prominent ET scholars and practitioners has been created and is now available through the AECT Website. These conversations contribute to the documentation of ET's development as a discipline through the individual stories and personal insights from those who have shaped the field through their work.
