Abstract

Technology was found to be underused by language teachers in prior studies despite its possible facilitating function. This study aimed to explore language teachers’ perception of factors and barriers concerning their instructional technology use through group discussion. The analysis of group discussion revealed both external and internal factors/barriers on their technology use. The main external barriers are a) lack of resources b) difficulty to access to available technology c) lack of proper assessment and d) lack of parental support. Two internal barriers a) teachers’ pedagogical beliefs and b) technology-related knowledge and skills, were also identified in this study.
