Abstract

Computer process simulation can provide a safe, inexpensive method of training operators in the injection molding process. Unlike mold filling simulations, the program must be capable of simulating the molding process in real time to provide the illusion of an operating machine. This is accomplished by removing details that have little bearing on the basic understanding of the process.

The program presented in this thesis is intended to help in the teaching of the basic operation and troubleshooting of the injection molding process.
