Abstract

A computer based training module on 'Wireless LAN Infrastructure Devices' is designed using Adobe Flash. This module was developed for a student who has some knowledge about networking or taken at least one course in telecommunication and has little of no knowledge about wireless networking devices. The three step approach - planning, development, and analysis is followed. Various steps are followed to finalize the topic, the tool and the design methodology, which are described in detail in the methodology section. Once the module is developed, then it's tested for its efficiency using a set of students in SUNY Institute of Technology. The pre and post test methodology is followed to analyze if the students learnt something out of the module and if the module was productive. The statistical analysis where done using hypothesis testing and the results were established. A survey was also conducted among the same set of students to look into the various aspects that were to be improved and the inference from the survey results and their suggestions are produced in the future work section for any one who would like to improve upon the module.

The appendix contains the entire module, the pre and post test survey question, the results obtained and also the user and expert comments on the module.
