Abstract
The study of historical construction will enhance students' knowledge of both architectural history and construction technology. However, the traditional method of teaching and the instructional media frustrate many students' learning. One strategy for improving this situation has been to introduce computer technology. This research extends that experience using emerging web based interactive media. Two major media are discussed and applied here. One is flash; the other is VRML, with JAVA programming EAI. The traditional Chinese Temple's structural system is used for the case study because it has its own distinctive characters and is so systematic but has long frustrated students because of its complexity.
