Abstract

The successful design, development and delivery of high quality online education requires a coordinated agile effort from cross-functional teams of subject matter experts, instructional design consultants, and IT support professionals. To best facilitate agile and efficient collaboration and communication, our teams utilize an enterprise social networking (ESN) tool. The ESN tool provides our project teams with an edge for continuous communication, collaboration and feedback in order to complete instructional projects and helps to reduce team blind spots, and miscommunication. This best practice presentation will provide a discussion regarding the evaluation and selection of appropriate enterprise social media tools for team collaboration, best practices for organizational implementation and use, as well as challenges and future considerations of the enterprise social media space.
