Abstract
This presentation will provide a discussion and demonstration of the development of the iPod Touch and the iPhone initiatives at Drexel University’s School of Education. The discussion will primarily focus on the development of a new mobile web portal to support distance and face-to-face learners in a Higher Education (HE) program. The HE Resources Portal has been in use for a number of years online, but it has recently been re-formatted as a new, slimmer version to be utilized by iPod Touch and iPhone users. This new incarnation will serve as the basis for further development of resource portals for other online degree offerings in the School of Education. The purpose of this presentation is to: a.) describe the process used to collaboratively develop this technology and b.) discuss the challenges associated with developing and implementing this new technology.
