TIMESpace: A Repository for the Medical Digital Content

The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the background and the development process of setting up a web-based repository application for the medical education in the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. In this paper we describe what is involved in adopting an open-source repository system as well as some factors and design considerations during the early stages of the development process. The main objectives for the implementation of this repository are: first, to manage the significant assets of the electronic research and educational materials in the Pritzker school and second, to promote further scholarship and collaborative opportunities among departments and colleges in the University of Chicago as well as in the DSpace community.
