Abstract

Abstract: This paper provides detailed information about the progress of the newly developed online elementary education degree courses offered at the University of Southern Mississippi for teacher assistants. Utilizing teacher assistants’ daily classroom experiences as a basis of practicum experiences, the curricula is presented through the online coursework. This paper discusses the challenges faced with utilizing virtual coaching as well as the discoveries, needs and successes for this ongoing online elementary education coursework.
