Abstract

This qualitative study analyses on 4th and 5th level of elementary education "science and technology course", which has been prepared in accordance with the new curriculum based on a new approach. This new curriculum has been put into practice in educational system in Turkey. To that end, firstly document analysis was conducted to evaluate new science and technology program. Moreover, classroom teachers, who are implementers of the new program, were interviewed to understand their views about the new program and two science and technology courses were observed. According to results of this study, it is seen that teachers have encountered such many problems as especially in doing the activities and in the assessment of student performance during the application of the new curriculum
